Shanghai is the gateway to Chinese commerce and all diamonds imported to China must go through the Shanghai Diamond Exchange (SDE).

Schachter operates in China locally through the Shachter Shanghai office at the Shanghai Diamond Exchange, and through a subsidiary office in Shenzhen.

This setup allows us to work closely with the SDE management and the China Diamonds customs department for all the finance, logistics, import/export formalities, and at the same time to be close with China’s leading jewelry industry purchase offices and factories, the majority of which are based in the Shanghai and Shenzhen areas.
